Long Necked Hill Tribe - Chiang Dao

Chiang Dao is an hour and a half drive north of Chiang Mai. The third highest mountain is in Thailand is located here. It is very rustic with very simple people and surroundings. We rented our own private bungalow and heard little geckos and many different types of birds. Coffee is grown in the surrounding region. The temperature is about 20 degrees cooler than in Bangkok and you can even wear a light jacket in the mornings and evenings.

Our driver took us to see the long necked hill tribe. These women have the neck coils put on at an early age and they keep them on even when they sleep. They are so beautiful. It felt weird to visit and gawk at them but they didn't seem to mind the attention.
